Rethink Your Business Succession Plans after Connelly v. USA The U.S. Supreme Court's late June decision in Connelly v. United States has profound implications for business ownership and succession planning. Here are my three key takeaways: 1. Valuation matters 2. Time to review any buy-sell agreements in place 3. Consider utilizing cross-purchase agreements ?? https://lnkd.in/gnSGpxmJ #BusinessSuccession #SuccessionPlanning #EstatePlanning

In June our team took a trip to The Brookwood Community. We were given the opportunity to serve alongside 200+ citizens there and realized within minutes how much joy each citizen found in their work. It was infectious! A few weeks after the trip, we wrapped up our three month journey through Tim Keller's book, Every Good Endeavor: Connecting Your Work to God's Work. There was significant overlap of truth in the book that stood out during our brief time at Brookwood. I dive into that some in this blog and add thoughts about how that impacts what we do at Kings Path. Sometimes we can get caught up in the numbers and dollars (and that does matter), but if we lose sight or don't even know what our "Why" is, it can all be in vain.

Excited to share my latest blog post on "True Riches" by John Cortines and Greg Baumer, a thought-provoking read that delves into the transformative power of integrating faith with personal finances. In this book, the authors share their journey from serving both God and money to a life centered on generosity and stewardship. Each chapter is a step towards a heart transformation, moving from pride to gratitude, coveting to contentment, anxiety to trust, and indifference to love. Join me in exploring how our finances can shape our hearts and lead us to a life of true richness. #TrueRiches #FaithAndFinance #Stewardship #BookReview

Every semester I have the opportunity to speak at Texas A&M Mays Business School in the FINC 210: Opportunities in Finance class. The class gives students an excellent look at various career paths in finance. Yesterday, I kicked off the semester with a lesson about global equity markets and changing investment trends, importance of risk and compounding returns, as well as the importance of "The Bigger Picture" of work and life: 1) Find something you love - because you will be doing it each day! 2) Find a group of people you like being around - because you'll spend more time with them than with your family. 3) Don't worry about what others are doing - each of us has our own talents and callings. Do what you like to do and be content. 4) Use your business and skills to make a difference.
