We are excited to announce that Texas A&M's Old Army Roofing Team has secured First Place at the Roofing Alliance’s Construction Management Competition! This marks their third victory at the IRE and their sixth time making the Finals. The students to compete were John Falavolito (Captain), Hogan Leftwich, Ryan Kennick, Weston Mounce, and Grayson Headley. All five students are Construction Science Students at Texas A&M. The competition required that they submit a written proposal in the Fall and then present at the Internation Roofing Expo in San Antonio, TX. The competition this year was tough as they were going against 5 other college programs all presenting over the same project. To win the students are graded and judged on their attention to detail, logistical and estimating skills, and overall presentation ability. We look forward to what the team has in store next year. A huge thank you to Kyle Cahill from King of Texas Roofing for his outstanding mentorship as the team’s industry professional. Kyle has gone above and beyond, traveling to and from College Station to spend valuable time with the students. As a mentor, Kyle serves to bridge the gap between student's construction studies and the technical aspects of commercial roofing.
