Succession planning today is complex, expensive, time-consuming & painful. Nearly 1M farms will transfer via succession or sale by 2035; yet, of all farmers surveyed, 75% state they do not have a legal-ready succession plan in place. This puts over $2T of farm operations & family net worth at risk in the market. And if these farm operations become mired in family disputes, dissolution, probate, etc. at any meaningful scale, that could very well challenge our food system's resiliency – and potentially – our national security.
