Being part of Kinda Collective has enabled us to meet some amazing local businesses and community projects doing incredible things. Today we met Adam Smith FRSA at Surplus 2 Purpose. Getting to witness first hand not only the amazing work both he and the team there are doing, but to see a team work effortlessly, with the autonomy and authority to make make the right decisions for each moment that is put in front of them was a real inspiration. There are many businesses out there that could learn a lot from this system of working. Adam’s passion, dedication and drive in his mission to end food waste was infectious. However, hearing just a few of the horror stories of how much food is being wasted on a daily basis was gut wrenching. Is it time to rethink our buying habits, I know I certainly will be.

My colleague Kate and I were in Oxford for a meeting last week. Having arrived early we stopped at the Yellow Submarine Charity cafe for a coffee. I am so glad we did, what an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was great, the quality of the coffee and cake was outstanding, but it was the incredible service from the whole team that made it perfect. We left with a smile on our face and feeling extremely inspired. Please check them out and give them a follow. Terry, along with his talented friends, have been working on this for ages and it’s amazing to see it launch with three delicious coffee blends and one tasty single-origin collab with Wingmen (good people doing good things for men’s mental health). I’ve been chief coffee taster in the Campbell-Clarkin household, so take it in good authority that all the blends are worth a try.
