The Oregon Coast Visitors Association (OCVA) has partnered with Kind Traveler to launch the Every Stay Gives Back program, empowering travelers to support local environmental nonprofits with every hotel stay with participating lodging and charity partners. ???? Since launching just ONE year ago, Every Stay Gives Back has raised over ?$304,352? for local community & environmental charities??. Early results along the Oregon Coast include: ??728 volunteer hours supporting coastal ecology education with Cape Perpetua Collaborative ??286 native Oregon birds rehabilitated with the Wildlife Center of the North Coast ??53 acres of land preserved with North Coast Land Conservancy ??192 individuals received education on the cultural & environmental significance of sea otters through Elakha Alliance ??87 days of food provided for a marine patient with Oregon Coast Aquarium *{impact metrics coming soon for Friends of Otter Rock Marine Reserve & Nestucca, Neskowin, and Sand Lake Watersheds Council} Special thank you to the pioneering lodging & charity partners on the Oregon Coast for joining us in this inaugural effort: Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa/ Noble House Hotels & Resorts, Ocean Inn at Manzanita, Agate Beach Motel, Wildflower Inn, Pacific City Inn, Pacific View Lodging and Driftwood Shores Resort and Conference Center. We love this new spotlight from TIME — at this critical time, we must urge all to vote for leaders who care about our solvable climate crisis. “As we reflect on the state of our planet in 2024, it’s alarming how many people accept the relentless onslaught of?climate change?as inevitable. Every day, we are confronted with?grim news about our deteriorating environment: polluted air, water, and soil; record droughts; rising temperatures; uncontrollable wildfires; melting icebergs; bleaching coral; severe hurricanes; and the tragic loss of biodiversity. All of this paints a dire picture of our planet’s declining health. Instead of prompting action, these events are becoming the “new normal.” While some still dismiss climate change as a natural cycle unrelated to human activity, millions of people understand that human actions are the cause. Yet many still feel powerless, overwhelmed by the scale of the problem. But it’s not too late. Climate change is a?solvable problem—if the protection of our climate and natural world is drastically elevated as a top global priority.
