Kids on First Foundation

Should we talk about how this is NOT making the game accessible?! I’m SEETHING. What is this?! How are we GROWING the next generation? ANSWER: WE AREN’T. This is SO frustrating. @mlb we need family, socioeconomic, and kid friendly games/packages, etc. You know who won’t be at these games? My kids, my constituents, my programees. I’m SO angry. When people ask me what is the problem is with baseball …. It’s ACCESS.

The post-season is my favorite time of year - even without my team in the playoffs, it's some of THE best baseball. I have been blessed to meet Dan Abrams, who is an artist and designer and a HUGE Mets fan! Dan has the sweetest soul and he loves baseball and giving back so he created shirts for Kids on First Foundation to help us raise money! The shirts are our Logo - and a gorgeous baseball mitt heart! Hey friends!!!! We are 3 days away from leaving for Alabama for the Flyball Jubilee with The Players Alliance! We are in our last push to raise money for travel, incidentals and food! In two week, Damien Ramos and I will be heading to Montgomery, Alabama with the Players Alliance. We will take part in HBCU baseball, community service, and Damien will have a chance to show off his skills, and communicate with professionals in the business. I am SO proud of Damien. He balances work, full time senior, and baseball. I’m here to continue his journey and pray he makes it to a college where he can play. I am SO grateful to Richmond Times-Dispatch for this OUTSTANDING article on the kids and coaches in my program. They are TRULY the faces of this foundation and why it exists. I am SO GLAD that I can drive the vehicle and let them shine as they are SO well deserving of. Now that this is front page news - let’s not let it go unnoticed. While we strive to build a team of our own, we are HERE for kids in all localities who want to play. I have helped kids move to other organizations so it’s closer to them, I am working in schools and getting out in FRONT of people. Let’s not let this opportunity go to waste.
