Best of all, you can recreate these fun activities right at home! ?? Here are some simple ideas to try with your child: ?? DIY Sensory Bins: Fill a bin with rice, beans, or pasta—add small toys, scoops, and cups for endless exploration! ?? Bubble Play: Create bubbles using dish soap and water. Use straws, wands, or even your hands to pop and catch them! ??♂? Obstacle Courses: Set up pillows, chairs, and blankets in a fun course for your child to navigate. Great for motor skills and problem-solving! ?? Playdough Creations: Make homemade playdough and encourage your child to shape letters, animals, or whatever sparks their imagination. ??♀? I came across these ABA-friendly Halloween tips from Links ABA Therapy and had to share! ?? Here are a few things to keep in mind to create a sensory-friendly, stress-free celebration: ?? Offer non-costume alternatives (fun hats, stickers, or themed PJs) ?? Provide non-food treats (like bubbles, fidget toys, or glow sticks) ?? Practice trick-or-treating routines ahead of time to build familiarity ?? Respect boundaries– children may not be comfortable saying “trick or treat” ?? Create safe spaces if children need breaks from all the excitement Inclusive holidays mean happy memories for everyone! ??
