Founded in 1916, Kids Alive International is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of vulnerable children and families. We believe that every child deserves a chance to live a life free from fear and trauma. Through our comprehensive programs and resources, we seek justice and healing from trauma such as child abuse, neglect, and sexual violence. Our work transforms communities through a holistic approach that melds evidence-based practices with biblical principles. What we do: At Kids Alive International, we’re driven by the belief that every child, no matter their challenges, is cherished by God. Yet, far too many are unseen, unheard, and at risk. Inspired by Isaiah 1:17, we’re committed to championing these children. We seek justice, empower them for a brighter future, and work for positive change in their communities. With love and healing for every child we serve. We aim to create lasting change, tackling even the most challenging situations. How we do it: Kids Alive works alongside local communities and national leadership to identify challenges and critical issues within a country that hinder children’s well-being, such as safety concerns and trauma prevention and intervention. We work with designated facilitators to offer comprehensive programs including restorative education, protective care, family strengthening, and justice advocacy. Empowering Survivors! The Escuintla Survivor Network chose the name “Comunidad Aves,” symbolizing joy, bravery, and hope. A former Oasis resident now leads devotionals, inspiring others as they rebuild their lives. ????? Ready for a week of praise? We are excited to share some amazing things happening in each of the Kids Alive countries! We’re grateful for the skilled work teams and passionate summer interns who joined us in the Dominican Republic in 2024! These teams helped improve campuses like Palo Blanco School by building classrooms, organizing book fairs, leading art projects, and engaging in sports ministry. Their encouragement uplifted staff and missionaries alike. Our interns contributed to hosting teams, conducting healthcare research, and sharing impactful stories. This year, we’ve celebrated students coming to faith, baptisms, and Christian marriages—proof of God’s transformative work through AWANA and partner churches. Kids Alive is active in our partner school in Andahuaylas, Peru! ???? Each week our staff rotates through classrooms to teach over 800 children about self-care, recognizing sexual abuse, and how to report it to a trusted adult. This course empowers children to seek help and often encourages them to approach our team with their experiences. Our social workers and psychologists then follow up with the necessary support.
