"Art is the highest form of hope." Kids & Art is grateful to bring the healing power of art into the lives of children living through the unimaginable. They've all made a tremendous impact on us through their courage, smiles, and art. This "Blue Green Art" was created by a pediatric patient during their first visit to Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. With the help of our artist volunteer Nicole Kleemann, our talented artist used Gelato crayons and watercolor paints then dipped tissue in water to create the smudging effect. Beautiful ?? Kids & Art is proud to honor Penny's Flight Foundation with this year's Amaeyzing Impact Award ?? Their youth advisory board realized Kids & Art and Penny's Flight shared common goals to encourage the joy of artistic expression while navigating difficult health conditions. A huge Thank you to Kaiser Permanente and The Sharks Foundation for supporting Kids & Art Foundation ? In partnership with Kaiser Permanente, the Sharks Foundation generously gave a $30,000 Community Assist grant to help fund three Kids & Art Destination Workshops in 2025. These workshops are an opportunity for local children and families touched by cancer and other critical conditions to create art together in dynamic settings. Each destination workshop features professional artists who work with participants on creative experiences inspired by the workshop location. It was such a treat for the pediatric oncology patients and their family to create art projects in a private setting with some of the players from the San Jose Sharks, along with "Sharkie" the official mascot of the San Jose Sharks ?? Once again a heartfelt Thanks to both organizations for supporting our mission ?? ?? "Any one of us can be a rainbow in somebody's clouds." Kids & Art Founder Purvi Shah created her foundation in 2008 to bring joy and light into the lives of pediatric cancer patients. Purvi's son Amaey was diagnosed with cancer at three-years old and lost his fight six-years later. She recently shared her heartbreaking yet inspiring story on the "Sundays with Wendy" podcast. Purvi discussed how her son's diagnosis impacted her and her family as they navigated the unimaginable, and found healing through the power of art. Cancer sucks. Art Heals has become a powerful tagline for the Kids & Art Foundation. Purvi shared, "I'm not color washing this. It sucks. For me I had to make it as clear as possible, that what we're going through is no fun, it really sucks. Team Building Art Workshop-Led by Kids & Art professional artist, the workshop guides teams through the creation of a selected project. ?? Team Building Packing Event?Host an ArtKit packing event for employees?using donated volunteer hours. The ArtKits will be sent to pediatric patients in children’s hospitals around the country. S/O to the Redwood City Kaiser nurses who've been volunteering with Kids & Art for the past two years. They helped pack over 200 boxes of ArtKits and helped us to prep for some upcoming projects.
