For the first time in recent months, we heard from Governor Tina Kotek about the state’s efforts to address homelessness. It’s a crisis Governor Kotek declared an emergency on her first day in office. Last week’s update comes roughly three months after the Supreme Court ruled that laws regulating camping on public property do not violate the U.S. Constitution. This landmark decision has little effect on the streets of Portland due to a state law that when I asked her she showed no signs of changing.?KGW-TV
