Morning teams unite! Our FANTASTIC morning producers Mikayla Andrade and Ilene Morrisette and Executive Producer Brandon O'Rourke traveled to Spokane last week for training that included all our TEGNA PNW stations KREM 2 Media Group KING 5 Media Group, KTVB News Group. #TeamTEGNA
"The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled." - Plutarch ??Fires were kindled this week as morning producers from KING 5 Media Group, KGW-TV, KTVB News Group, & KREM 2 Media Group met for our 4th ??#PNW #TeamTEGNA training session, this time in Spokane, WA. We collaborated on how to carry audience (on streaming & linear) with urgency and pacing, learned how to reset Circadian rhythms from a sleep expert, and dove into conflict resolution by understanding communication styles. We all return to work Monday… a little bit on fire.???? Special thanks to our General Managers who are committed to keeping that fire going for #jouranlism: Christy Moreno, RJ Merritt, Jessica Hagan, MBA, & Greg Retsinas.

For the first time in recent months, we heard from Governor Tina Kotek about the state’s efforts to address homelessness. It’s a crisis Governor Kotek declared an emergency on her first day in office. Last week’s update comes roughly three months after the Supreme Court ruled that laws regulating camping on public property do not violate the U.S. Constitution. This landmark decision has little effect on the streets of Portland due to a state law that when I asked her she showed no signs of changing.?KGW-TV
