Last week, I proudly graduated from Leadership Anne Arundel????????????????, celebrating a significant milestone alongside the organization's 3??0??th anniversary??I had the great honor to also celebrate next to my husband Kelsey Gary, my parents and mother in law. This experience has truly transformed both my personal and professional trajectory. Every class truly is the best, as I've witnessed firsthand the dedication of the team to keep the content fresh, innovative, and thought-provoking. Inviting the counties most influential leaders to the table to have some of the most thought provoking conversations. I am grateful for the knowledge, connections, and roadmap for change that Leadership Anne Arundel has provided. There are moments in our lives that leave a lasting impact, shaping our path ahead. Today, as Co-Chair of the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center GenX foundation, I had the privilege to witness the unveiling of the Covid wall at the hospital atrium. This art installation is a tribute to the resilience of the hospital, its team, and the patients who faced unprecedented challenges. The event was a poignant reminder of the dedication and compassion shown by the nurse team towards patients on the brink of survival. It was a humbling experience, confirming my decision to be apart of the GenX foundation board as Co- Chair. KG Truck & Auto we believ in purpose-driven leadership. I am inspired to continue to help build and support initiatives with University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center that help care for the community we are entrusted to serve. Moreover, it was inspiring to see fellow colleagues, like Jeff Armiger, Kathy Conner McCollum, and Lisa Broadhead, M.P.H., from the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation and Leadership Anne Arundel, making a difference in their respective communities. It is hard to believe that I am writing these words, but my last class and closing retreat for Leadership Anne Arundel is coming up next month. The Flagship 2024 Agriculture/South County Day was truly incredible. Led by Chair David Scheler and a dedicated committee, we explored the hidden gems of local agriculture. We were warmly welcomed by Homestead Gardens' President Brian Riddle and Learning & Development Manager Megan McMullen, who shared insights on ag-tourism and the county's support for farmers. Visits to Chase's Produce, Holiday Memories Farm, Greenstreet Growers, and Griffith Family Farm showcased the dedication and innovation within our agricultural community. From learning about strawberry growing to sustainable farming practices, each stop left us with a deeper appreciation for the hard work and passion involved in sustaining our agricultural traditions. With waddling ducks, crowing roosters, and fresh produce, it was a day filled with laughter, learning, and new connections. Cheers to celebrating the vibrant spirit of agriculture! #CommunityConnections ???? In reflecting on Agriculture, I am struck by the profound way of life it offers. It provides a deep connection to God, His creation, and the community. The industry teaches invaluable lessons in flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and resilience like no other profession can.
