We are proud to announce our support for Carisbrooke Shipping Ltd's fleet modernisation programme with a financing of around 26 million EUR, backed by Atradius, the Dutch export credit insurance company. This financing will facilitate the construction of two state-of-the-art general cargo vessels, each with a capacity of 7,700 dwt, ordered from the esteemed Thecla Bodewes Shipyards in the Netherlands. These vessels, part of the innovative ‘Labrax’ series, will feature modern diesel-electric propulsion systems designed for fuel efficiency and sustainability, along with an advanced bow shape that reduces their carbon footprint. Scheduled for delivery in 2026, these ships will play a vital role in European short sea shipping. “We are thrilled to support Carisbrooke Shipping in their commitment to environmentally friendly and sustainable maritime freight transport” stated Andreas Ufer, Member of the Management Board of KfW IPEX-Bank, in the context of the signing ceremony attended by the client and legal advisors. KfW IPEX-Bank contributes GBP 170 million to the financing of Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) in the UK. NEP is developing onshore and offshore infrastructure needed to transport CO2 from carbon capture projects across Teesside and the Humber - collectively known as the East Coast Cluster - to secure storage under the North Sea. The infrastructure is crucial to achieving net zero in the UK’s most carbon intensive industrial regions as they are responsible for nearly 50% of the UK's industrial carbon emissions. The NEP Project is expected to store an average of 23 million tons of CO2 annually through future expansions. It is the first project financed carbon capture and storage project globally and the first project to be developed under the UK's new Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) business model. With this financing KfW IPEX-Bank contributes to decarbonsing the economy and supports state of the art technologies for a carbon free future. #Decarbonization #CCS #CarbonCapture #NetZero #InfrastructureFinance #IPEX

?? Supporting Hapag-Lloyd AG’s newbuilding programme ?? We are thrilled to share that KfW IPEX-Bank is playing a pivotal role in the financing of Hapag-Lloyd's ambitious newbuilding programme. As Germany's largest liner shipping company and a long-standing valued client of ours, Hapag-Lloyd has embarked on a significant order (worth USD 4 billion) with contracts signed for 24 new container ships in October 2024 (totalling 312,000 TEU). We are financing three 9,200 TEU vessels, contributing approximately USD 281 million to this major initiative. The new ships will feature cutting-edge, low-emission dual-fuel LNG engines and are designed to be ammonia-ready. They can also operate on biomethane, significantly reducing CO2e emissions by up to 95% compared to conventional propulsion systems. We are happy to support Hapag-Lloyd in achieving their decarbonisation goals and contribute to the future of green shipping. ???? #Maritime #Shipping #MaritimeIndustry #GreenShipping #Decarbonization #IPEX
