This week, the?International Trademark Association (INTA)?hosted its annual leadership meeting in New Orleans, convening Board members and committee leads for important conversations to help shape the future of the world of IP. In attendance was Keystone President?Jeff Marowits, who co-chairs educational programming and resources for the Commercialization of Brands Committee and this year taught two chapters of the “Finance for Non-Finance Legal Professionals” certificate program. Keystone’s Dilina Abudurexiti, Crispin Ferris, and?Daniil Pak?also taught portions of the program’s curriculum which covers financial statements, benchmarking and financial analysis, time value of money, brand and IP valuation, acquisition and financing, the financial aspects of licensing, trademark damages, and more. Keystone Expert Dr. Wenke Lee will present at Penn State College of Information Sciences and Technology's Distinguished Lecture Series on November 18. Dr. Lee, a Regents' Professor at Georgia Institute of Technology's College of Computing and Executive Director of the Institute for Information Security & Privacy, will discuss the privacy issues in biometric-based authentication and surveillance, deepfakes, and the logical reasoning capabilities of large language models. The lecture, "Privacy and Reliability Issues of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Systems," marks the return of the Distinguished Lecture Series, connecting leading researchers with the Penn State community to share insights at the frontier of information sciences and technology. Harvard Professor of Computer Science James W Mickens and I provided expert reports for this proposed class action issued by Which? regarding iCloud. My analysis addressed behavioural economics and choice architecture and Professor Mickens’ focused on the technology behind iCloud.
