Harvard Professor of Computer Science James W Mickens and I provided expert reports for this proposed class action issued by Which? regarding iCloud. My analysis addressed behavioural economics and choice architecture and Professor Mickens’ focused on the technology behind iCloud. Keystone has also worked with Professor Mickens on a number of other matters. The reports provide important evidence in addition to the economic expert report. ? Experts in consumer behavioural insights and the understanding of technology are increasingly critical in litigation, digital regulation and (importantly now in the UK) consumer protection matters. If you would like to learn more about using these areas of expertise – we have material that explains how we can help – please get in touch. So proud to be able to announce after many months of hard work, that our client Which? has issued a proposed collective action in the Competition Appeal Tribunal against Apple, seeking £3 billion in damages on behalf of a class of UK consumers. The claim relates to Apple’s abuse of dominance in respect of iCloud. In addition to the damages, an injunction is sought to prevent Apple’s ongoing abusive conduct. We are grateful to Which? for having entrusted us with this significant and important claim and we look forward to working with their great in-house team of Charmian Averty, Thomas Clark and Gurpreet Chhokar. This claim has been brought about through the hard work of my incredibly talented and committed team at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, including my partners Elaine Whiteford and Michelle Clark, along with Adele Behles, Jane Kluske, Oliwia Siutkowska, Lara Sabel, George Bailey Xanthe Gabrielle-Beacher. We have developed the claim together with our awesome counsel team of Philip Woolfe KC and Jack Williams of Monckton Chambers, and a brilliant team of experts from AlixPartners headed up by Mat Hughes, Keystone AI headed up by Stefan Hunt and Professor James W Mickens of Harvard University. The claim has been made possible by the financial backing of Litigation Capital Management (LCM). The entire team look forward to yet again taking on a major international company on behalf of UK consumers. https://lnkd.in/eC7j-j-D

Keystone is proud to have partnered again with Amazon to analyze their economic impact across the European Union. Working closely with Amazon's team, our team examined how the company's investments have strengthened local economies throughout the EU. What did we find? Amazon's presence has contributed more than €140 billion to EU GDP since 2010, including €25 billion in 2023 alone. The company now employs over 150,000 people directly throughout the EU and supported an additional 400,000 jobs last year through their community investments and partnerships.
