On Sunday, September 22,?a group of cancer survivors and current cancer patients spent the afternoon at Topgolf with a few Bengals legends.

Seventeen patients received relief from hand and wrist ailments at this year’s Hand Day, an annual event that offers free hand surgeries to those without medical insurance.

This week is National Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Week! APPs are healthcare providers such as certified nurse anesthetists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurse midwives, clinical nurse specialists, and behavioral health therapists. Sidney was nominated by a patient who shared: "Sidney, I would like to start out by saying thank you again for not only doing so amazing at you job but for you also going above and beyond to make sure my hospital stay is as comfortable and easy as you could possibly make it! People honestly don’t realize that when you're hospitalized, the nurses who take care of you make a world of difference! You have done so much to make not only me feel comfortable during my stay but also made my husband and son feel comfortable knowing that I’m in good hands! You helped me stay positive with your kind words and warm hugs! You also went completely out of your way to braid my hair and help me get cleaned up before surgery! You also went out of your way and helped me get lotion on and when I came back from surgery you had all clean bedding that you put on my bed while I was in surgery without me even asking! Because you treated me the way you would want one of your family members to be treated if they were the ones in my shoes! You also joke around and play with my son which is seriously so nice and means more than you’ll ever know to my husband and I. Thanks again, Sidney!" Way to go, Sidney!

Nearly three out of four cardiac arrests that occur outside of the hospital happen at home, making CPR a lifesaving skill that everyone should know. That's why the Greater Dayton and Cincinnati communities are invited to “Save the Dey, presented by Cintas” on Thursday, September 26, 2024, on the field at Paycor Stadium. The event includes two training sessions where attendees will learn and practice Hands-Only CPR and how to use an AED. #ketteringhealth #dayton #healthcare
