BEST OF SHOW?! Someone pinch us!? ??? ? We are honored to have received Best in Show at IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter's Prêt-à-Porter 2024 this past Friday. It was whirlwind of blood, sweat, tears and ultimately, love, that helped us create this garment. We are beyond honored to have had our model and her family, members of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe in Wyoming on the Wind River Reservation, join us on Friday. We are so honored that the Tribe offered advice, spoke to us about what was important to convey, and partnered with us from the very start of this process.? ??? ? Thank you to NOMA Colorado for the Land Acknowledgement that recognized the Tribes in Colorado and surrounding areas as the original stewards of the land. It did not go unnoticed.? Thank you to MDC Interior Solutions for providing us with everything we needed to properly tell this story. Who knew deconstructed wallcovering could have such an impact?! ? Lastly, we are honored that we could do our part in bringing this design to life and sharing the culture of the Eastern Shoshone Tribe with our design community. We hope this is start of many more collaborations to come for our industry with Indigenous People who so deserve to have their culture celebrated rather than appropriated or simply passed over.? ? It's Socktober season at Kestrel Design Group! Since 2022, we've collected a total of nearly 4,000 pairs of socks in partnership with local organizations like Urban Peak, The Family Tree and The Samaritan House to support our Denver and surrounding area community. The Kestrel crew had a blast at the Visual Interest Inc. Sparklab trade show last week! We had a great time clowning around and checking out some great new products while we participated in a super fun scavenger hunt (the balloon animals are a major plus for our office decor). Lob stands for "love of bocce", and the owners chose LoDo Denver as their first location in the United States because of Denver's vibrant atmosphere and love of gaming ??, good food ??, good drinks (mocktails included) ?? and good fun. Drinks, dining and deboccery might be Lob's motto, but our focus was bringing a space left empty for years to life while prioritizing safety of users and identifying the best use of beautiful and durable materials for this hybrid eatery, bar and activity based location. Lob's mission to foster genuine connection and camaraderie through spirited play and a focus on community is evident through wayfinding, murals featuring old-school bocce players, bright colors and quippy signage that makes for a fun experience for anyone and everyone who walks through the doors. Our team balled out for Opening Day at Lob Denver! We are so excited that this downtown bar, restaurant and bocce concept that's nearly two years in the making, was able to open in time for Opening Day. Mile High Flood District wanted a new home to celebrate 50 years of serving Denver and surrounding areas. As an organization, they are dedicated to the protecting people, property and the environment through stream preservation and flood management, so it was a natural decision that the color story throughout their space lean into greens, blues and purples - the natural and soothing colors of water.? ? This two-story structure came with open stairwells and a central atrium space that provided design inspiration from the beginning. It is now a place of design inspiration full of organic patterns, neutral textures and colorful graphics and murals that harken to nature and stand out boldly.
