Today, we’re taking a look back at Kansas City’s beloved Union Station—an architectural marvel since its groundbreaking in 1912. Originally built as a bustling transportation hub, the station covered over 850,000 square feet and included 900 rooms. After decades of rich history, including being a critical point for troop movement during WWII, the station closed in the 1980s, only to be beautifully restored and reopened in 1999 as a landmark of arts, science, and culture.
