A bill passed by the Legislature amends Title 53 concerning Municipalities and provides for a statutory definition of "Vacant and Blighted Property" and provides for property registration and yearly fees associated with same. For the mortgage industry, this bill provides that any property owned by the federal or state government (including any of their instrumentalities) would be exempt from the fees, meaning that post-foreclosure where properties are titled in the name of HUD, et al., the properties would be exempt. #property #registration #vacant #abandoned
