    Excited to kick off our work with ComplyAdvantage! For revenue teams in FinTech Infrastructure, finding accounts that convert at scale is incredibly hard.     Yesterday Gong hosted a breakfast for GTM Leaders. It was great to be in a room filled with people complaining about all the annoying AI revenue tools that write to them. (sorry, I swear we’re different!) One thing that stood out to me is the focus on “experimenting with AI” For most of our customers, “experimenting” just isn’t a focus. They’re focused on actually making it useful in production, at scale, in enterprise. They have targets to hit and need something that works and is used across the board. If you? 1. Are struggling with generic industry classifications like “financial services” and semi-relevant sizing such as headcount 2. Have countless reps manually looking through accounts to see which are relevant 3. Want to want to get data that matters to your company specifically instead of a static database Then I’d love to show you how we can research every company in the world, as if one of your reps had unlimited time. This means your reps can spend all their time on accounts that convert. Typically we finance it by replacing existing traditional enrichment providers.

    Yesterday we had our monthly team dinner at Kernel. We eat dinner together in the office most nights, but yesterday we somehow managed to get everyone outside the office at the same time. It also included a surprise appearance from the latest addition to our growth team who will be joining us in March. As Kernel has grown, these dinners have become a great place to be surprised by all the cool stuff we're working on.

    Yesterday we hosted a roundtable for some amazing RevOps leaders in London from companies like Pleo, Wayflyer, and more. What stood out to me was how similar the problems RevOps faces are. It tends to fall into three categories: 1. Alignment between different teams: particularly sales and marketing, but also data 2. Data quality: basic firmographics, corporate hierarchies, and all the other foundational challenges are very top of mind 3. AI: trying to find larger-scale applications, but most things are neat tools you can test that don’t seem production-ready. Thank you for coming, was wonderful to meet you all :)

    Excited to kick off our work with GoCardless! Getting the right accounts in the CRM, with the right indication of priority and ICP fit is hard. I’m excited to kick off our work with the team at GoCardless to help them solve this challenge. Working with Chris, Joachim, Galit, Prince and the rest of the amazing team at GoCardless has been wonderful thus far. Sometimes I know from the first call that I’m speaking with a team that is so deeply focused on the problems we solve at Kernel that it’s not only going to be a partnership that solves those problems, it’s going to be a partnership that pushes the frontier of what’s possible. When I met Chris one of the first sentences he said was ‘Nailing our target accounts globally is my top priority.’ I speak with a lot of FinTech RevOps teams and know that solving this is soooo much harder in Payments RevOps than in almost any other vertical. Why? Payments revenue rarely correlates directly with the headcount of the payment company’s customers. Any attempt at account prioritisation becomes a game of whack-a-mole already with industry and revenue data, let alone any custom account research. Standard enrichment industries are too broad. Revenue estimates are not accurate enough. At Kernel we enable GoCardless to research all companies in the world as if a GoCardless rep had unlimited time. Surely this will be the start of a great journey.

    Yesterday we welcomed Ollie to the team! Kernel has been growing quite a lot lately. He is the third person joining us in Feb after five new hires in Jan (Kernels? Kerneliers? Colonels?) Ollie has previously co-founded his own company, worked as a Founder’s Associate, and in Product. Been great to see the product team growing with Dele, Dominik, Katie, Zina, and now Ollie all joining in the last two months. Excited to have you here :)

We hired 5 people in Jan, and expect the same in Feb. We’re hiring sales, marketing, and growth generalists. You should be looking for a steep learning curve and have experience in a high-intensity environment (e.g. startups, banking, consulting, recruitment). We’re still early and expect anyone joining to be a future leader in building out the best commercial function. We’re not hiring for any strategy and analysis roles. You’ll own part of the function. AI agents for enterprise workflows will be one of the most transformative technologies since the Internet. While almost every other AI application is used by a few people here and there, Kernel is deployed across the entire revenue function at many of the fastest-growing B2B companies in the world.
