Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County’s Artfest 2024 was nothing short of spectacular! The vibrant colors and bold designs of the artwork on display were captivating, made even more impressive by the fact that these masterpieces were created by young, emerging artists. Each piece beautifully captured the elegance and spirit of the Art Deco era, drawing inspiration from the iconic style of Tamara de Lempicka. The entire night was a testament to youthful talent and imagination. Through after-school programs, day camps, sports, and arts immersion, Zane Smith and his dedicated team are shaping bright futures for these children. Kern Energy CA is proud to support this incredible organization as they nurture creativity and empower the next generation of artists and innovators. Recently, members of our HR team spent a fulfilling day volunteering with the Community Action Partnership of Kern (CAPK), packing food boxes for seniors in need. In a time when many face the challenge of putting food on the table, CAPK’s mission to combat poverty and hunger by providing essential resources and services has never been more important. Addressing food insecurity requires a collective effort—one built on collaboration, compassion, and a shared commitment to supporting others. Kern Energy is proud to support CAPK in its critical work, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry. Our team had an amazing time discovering the magic of connection at our annual company picnic. Behind the backdrop of the Kern County Fair, Team Kern and their families enjoyed well-deserved downtime with games, music, and a mouth-watering meal catered by Big Mike’s Ragin’ Barbecue. The scorching Bakersfield temperatures had nothing on the heat our cornhole competitors brought – congrats to our champions Kevin Jenkin and Shane Wright (son of @Bethany Wright)! Caring for our teammates and their families through this long-standing tradition fuels the deep connections that make Kern Energy CA so unique. This year’s event was particularly exciting as we celebrated 90 years of continuous operation— reflecting on the incredible journey that has brought us here and anticipating what the next 90 will bring. Our team had an astronomical evening supporting the Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House’s annual Galactic Gala last week. The Star-Wars themed event (complete with the Mandalorian) was filled with a strong sense of caring as our community came together to support the children and families served by the BRMH.? The generosity was out of this world, raising more than $200,000 for this home away from home that keeps families close to each other while receiving the care they need. ?We’re grateful for Kris Dyche, Marivic Louey, Hayk Khandanyan and Roxanne Graham who represented our team...if only the rest of us had known there would be?Chicken McNuggets for appetizers.?
