Don Bynum, CEO of Temblor Brewing Company, shared his insights on the region’s burgeoning craft beer industry on today’s ?????????? ???????????????? ???? ?????????????????? show. Temblor, founded in 2015 in Bakersfield, is an award-winning microbrewery, gastropub, and event venue. According to the California Craft Brewers Association, in 2022, craft breweries contributed $8.8 billion to the state’s economy and supported almost 50,000 jobs.

Very excited to announce that Kern Economic Development Foundation (KEDF) is the recipient of a 2024 Excellence in Economic Development award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). The accolade was given for the organization's exemplary work in the Talent Development & Retention category. KEDF will be acknowledged and honored at the IEDC Annual Conference in Denver next month. Kern Intern Connections ("KIC Starting Careers") is a KEDF's talent retention and workforce quality initiative that pairs recent graduates from the Kern High School District's STEM-based and work-ready programs with the region's employers for paid internship opportunities. Critical KIC supporters include Bank of America, which contributed $100,000 to fund internships, and Chevron, which provided transportation stipends for the interns. Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Bank of the Sierra, and Tri Counties Bank were additional program sponsors.
