关于我们
Kern Down Syndrome Network (KDSN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with Down syndrome and their families in Kern County. Since our founding in 2015, we have worked tirelessly to provide support, resources, education, and community connections that foster acceptance, inclusion, and opportunities for individuals with Down syndrome to thrive. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every individual with Down syndrome deserves a future filled with dignity, purpose, and joy. Through programs like parent support groups, educational workshops, and family events, we provide vital tools and a sense of community for families navigating the unique challenges and joys of raising a child with Down syndrome. KDSN also advocates for awareness and inclusion within our community. From our signature events, such as the Walk for a Million Dreams, to medical outreach and partnerships with local businesses, we strive to create a more inclusive and understanding world for individuals with Down syndrome. We are proud to operate thanks to the generosity of donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Your support enables us to expand our programs, provide critical resources, and organize enriching activities for our members. By contributing to KDSN, you become part of a movement that makes a lasting difference in the lives of individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Join us in creating a brighter future. Together, we can empower dreams, build community, and promote inclusion for all.

💙💛Countdown to Giving Tuesday: 💛💙 Today, we’re spotlighting our Parent Partners Training program—a lifeline for new parents navigating a Down syndrome diagnosis. They’re not just a listening ear—they’re a bridge to community, connection, and confidence. ✨ A donation of just $50 helps train one Parent Partner to guide families through this life-changing experience. Your support creates ripples of hope that last a lifetime. 📅 Giving Tuesday is December 3rd, but you don’t have to wait! 🎉 The Countdown to Giving Tuesday is ON! 🎉 Today, we’re highlighting one of our key initiatives: Medical Outreach. For many families, the moment they receive a Down syndrome diagnosis is life-changing. Unfortunately, too often, this news is delivered in a way that feels cold and discouraging—something no parent should have to experience. Through our Medical Outreach initiative, we provide resources to medical professionals who interact with individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Our goal is to educate and inspire these professionals to deliver diagnoses with compassion, support, and excitement for the possibilities that every child with Down syndrome holds. 💛 💙With your help, we can: ✔️ Share resources that highlight the potential and joy of raising a child with Down syndrome. ✔️ Advocate for better communication practices to create more positive experiences for families. ✔️ Change the narrative for families receiving a diagnosis. A gift of just $25 helps us provide materials to a medical professional who may one day change the experience for a family forever. 💙 💛Your support can turn fear into hope and isolation into connection. Will you join us in making a difference? 📅 Giving Tuesday is December 3rd, but you can help today! Donate now and be part of creating a brighter future. 🔗 Visit https://lnkd.in/gEPdRGD7 💙💛 #GivingTuesday #KDSN #MedicalOutreach #downsyndromeawareness #kerndownsyndromenetwork #downsyndromediagnosis #celebratedownsyndrome
