The Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet is dedicated to fostering and promoting the state's rich heritage as well as continuing Kentucky's long history of being a premiere travel destination for all travelers to enjoy. The Cabinet serves as Kentucky's top tourism agency, and collaborates with local tourism partners to coordinate tourism, arts and heritage efforts through legislation, tourism development, and marketing/outreach. Kentucky tourism is an $11.8 billion industry that brings millions of visitors to the Commonwealth each year. As one of the state's largest economic generators, tourism serves as a mechanism for driving economic growth in communities within all 120 Kentucky counties. Gov. Andy Beshear joined tourism and arts leaders yesterday to honor the nine recipients of the Governor's Awards in the Arts. Awardees were chosen in recognition of their contributions to Kentucky arts. Thanks to Kentucky Arts Council leadership for organizing this event and to Kentucky Poet Laureate Silas House for introducing Tyler Childers for the National Award. Kentucky Poet Laureate Silas House led his third and final writing workshop at Lake Barkley State Resort Park as part of Kentucky State Parks' 100th anniversary year, with appearances from Sec. Casebier and Parks Interpretive Director Seth Wheat. Beautiful fall weather greeted the participants as they took a guided hike, listened to craft talks and participated in timed prompts. Many thanks to Silas for his creative leadership and inspiration!

Governor Andy Beshear and First Lady Britainy Beshear invite Kentuckians to submit artwork and photography for consideration in the Spring 2025 exhibit at the Team Kentucky gallery. Selected works are displayed for a six-month rotation in the Capitol and the Team Kentucky Digital Art Gallery. Submissions are due by Friday, Dec. 13.
