Happy Women's Entrepreneurship Day!
Today, on Women’s Entrepreneurship Day, we celebrate Beulah Louise Henry, famously known as “Lady Edison.” A self-taught inventor with an unstoppable drive, Henry visualized solutions to everyday problems and turned them into reality. Over her prolific career, she claimed more than 100 inventions and 49 patents, working across multiple industries and earning her place as one of the most inventive minds of her time. Her innovative spirit and entrepreneurial approach paved the way for future women in innovation. Among her remarkable patents are a bobbinless sewing machine that revolutionized high-volume stitching, a typewriter attachment that made document duplication cleaner and easier, and toys with lifelike features such as movable eyes and lips. She even created an ice cream maker that worked with minimal ice and doubled as a water cooler — perfect for a pre-freezer era. HenryBeulah’s groundbreaking inventions continue to inspire and exemplify the impact of women’s innovation. #WomensEntrepreneurDay #InnovationHerstory
