In December 2024, I said goodbye to my beloved Buddy—my rescue companion who filled my life with unconditional love and countless cherished moments. To honor his memory, I now have a special paver at both my home and the Kentucky Humane Society, ensuring that his legacy forever in my heart and in a place dedicated to helping animals in need. If you’ve ever wanted to celebrate the life of a beloved pet, friend, or family member, you can make them a permanent part of KHS through an engraved brick in the Garden of Lifelong Friends at the Sam Swope Pet Treatment & Lifesaving Center on Steedly Drive. These pavers are a meaningful way to honor a passing, commemorate a special occasion, or create a lasting family treasure. https://lnkd.in/gMtqN-68

The Franklin County 13 horses at Willow Hope Farm continue making great strides every day in their recovery. Most neglected horse cases happen in the winter after the grass has dried up. Owners are used to the summer, spring, and fall seasons when the grass is the best for the horses to eat, but once winter hits, they forget to feed them adequately throughout the cold months. "Learn about them first. Learn how to care for them, learn about the expenses, learn about their common medical needs. Horses need a dental every year, they need hoof care every six to eight weeks at least. There's a lot of stuff to learn," Olivia Dixon Kentucky Humane Society Farm Manager shared. Ivory spent nearly 300 days looking for a forever home since she last returned to KHS, but a few weeks ago, a family walked into our Sam Swope Pet TLC looking for a dog who could run, hike and play with them. We introduced them to this sweet girl, and the rest is history! Thank you WHAS-TV for sharing her adoption story, and to everyone who was rooting for her. Happy tails, Ivory! ?? https://lnkd.in/gd-kPsu7
