It's been five years since the Kenton County Government Center opened at 1840 Simon Kenton Way in Covington. The goal with this project was simple - create a one-stop shop for residents to address any of their county-related needs, from updating their vehicle registration to setting up child support payments. Today, this building houses nine independent agencies, including: ? Kenton County Clerk's Office ? Kenton County Sheriff ? Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney ? Kentucky Transportation Cabinet's Driver Licensing ? Kenton County Attorney ? Kenton County PVA ? Planning and Development Services of Kenton County ? Kenton County Fiscal Court ? The Kenton County team recently gathered together for our annual Employee Awards Banquet, where we recognize team members for their years of service to our residents. This year's class of eight honorees represent four departments, including Public Works, the Kenton County Detention Center, Kenton County Police Department and Technology Services. Our longest-serving honoree was Jackie Thornsburg (fourth from left), who's worked at KCPD for 30 years. The Kenton County team includes roughly 300 employees, and we remain incredibly grateful for their service to our community.

Meet Wendy Bridges, tax clerk in the Kenton County Office of the Treasurer! ?? Since 2014, Wendy has played a key role in processing business licenses, managing essential documents and answering questions from Kenton County business owners. From setting up new accounts to keeping records organized, Wendy’s due diligence and patience make her an integral part of the Treasurer’s office. Congratulations to our very own Sgt. Billie Jo Kiser, who recently received the Member of the Year Award from the Kentucky Women's Law Enforcement Network. Sgt. Kiser has been with the Kenton County Detention Center for nine years, serving now as our training sergeant. She oversees our training academy and recruitment and retention efforts. She is a leader among her field and embodies the Kenton County team's dedication to our community. Congratulations on this achievement, Sgt. Kiser! KWLEN brings together law enforcement professionals, educators, support personnel and individuals seeking law enforcement careers to benefit from our organization’s mentoring programs and expose them to statewide law enforcement issues. Congratulations to?Kenton County Police Department's very own Sgt. Ryan Roessler! This weekend, the American Legion recognized Sgt. Roessler with its Medal of Police Leadership Heroism, which is given to a law enforcement leader who demonstrates selfless service and consistently goes above and beyond their typical duties, for the betterment of their agency and community. We're proud to have Sgt. Roessler on our team.

Weren't able to cast your ballot during the early voting period? Don't worry. In Kenton County, residents have plenty of options for where to go on Election Day. Here's what you need to know: 1?? If you're willing to use our Express Vote touch screens, then you can vote at any of the County's more than 30 voting centers. You can see the complete list of voting centers in the following graphic. 2?? Not comfortable using a touch screen? That's OK. For pre-printed ballots, you must vote at the location assigned to your precinct. If you're unsure what your precinct is, then you check it out online at GoVote.Ky.Gov. Once on the website, you'll click the second tab "Review Your Registration" and use your name and date of birth to access your registration information. Polls open at 6:00 a.m. on Election Day and close at 6:00 p.m. However, if you're in line before polls close, then you will be allowed to vote. ? On Tuesday, Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann joined fellow elected officials to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new water tank in Taylor Mill that will help better meet existing needs and account for future growth. “This new water tower represents more than just infrastructure; it’s an investment in our quality of life, ensuring safe, reliable water for generations to come. Together, we’re building a stronger foundation that will support healthy resources for our residents and economic growth throughout Kenton County,” Judge Knochelmann said. The project, located just south of Scott High School, is expected to be complete in fall 2025.

We look forward to seeing Covington's new City Hall bring even more vibrancy to Scott Street.
