Kent ISD partners with our schools and communities providing enhanced and equitable opportunities to enrich the experiences and achievements of our learners. Kent ISD is a local educational service agency devoted to achievement for all students. We serve the community by helping our schools prepare students to be successful in work and life. Our primary customers are the students, teachers, staff and administrators of 20 public school districts, Christian and Catholic schools and Public School Academies. We help districts devote more dollars directly to the classroom by providing essential services, collaborative initiatives and valuable learning for the region's students and teachers. Regional collaboration is the way we work, both with our school districts and our community partners. As a result of our programs and services, we help the region's schools increase their capacity to serve students and boost achievement for nearly 102,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Another successful #TalkandTour! Students and their parents had a great time with Orthopaedic Associates of Michigan on Tuesday. A parent told us: "The Talk & Learn was an amazing experience for my son and I to attend together. The panel shared all the things that I hoped he would understand about a zigzag path to finding a career. The emphasis on job shadowing, researching careers and talking to people about their careers was awesome. We both came away from the night hopeful and inspired." Billie Beresford is a Grand Rapids Public Schools C.A. Frost Environmental Science Middle/High School graduate who dreams big! They were able to leverage their work-based learning experiences from the West Michigan Construction Institute to get a job right out of high school at First Cut Millwork. Shoutout to Clark Hill Law attorneys and to the students and parents (from East Kentwood, Forest Hills Northern, Godfrey-Lee, Kent City, Rockford, and Sparta) who attended the October #TalkandTour! The international law firm was able to share valuable information with local students - not only their personal journeys, but also some “inside scoop” about the field of law.
