For 26 years, Ken’s Krew has provided vocational training and job placement for over nine hundred adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities.?In the current job climate, the unemployment statistics among this population remains at a staggering 85-90%. We at Ken’s Krew want to change the statistics and make employment available to all those young adults who are willing and capable of working. Today we support over 500 Krew members in employment at 197 retail locations in nine states.

Hats off to our first-ever Graduate Prep School grads. ?? This summer, 12 talented Auburn locals took part in our new free hospitality education program, learning first-hand from industry pros and discovering new career paths. This enthusiastic group blew us away, and we're thrilled to share that every Prep School student was offered a job at our new Graduate Auburn, AL hotel. Classes ranged from front-desk and restaurant fundamentals to leadership development. Our partners at Ranger Station Candles led a session on the powerful connection between memory and scent, while Paul Blair (aka DJ White Shadow) spoke to Graduate's unique POV on music and the guest experience. ? Thanks to everyone who had a hand in Prep School's success, including Our House Auburn and Ken's Krew. This is just the beginning. #WeAreAllStudents This program was hosted at The Horst Schulze School of Hospitality Management at Auburn University.

Yesterday, CT Vocational Coordinator Melissa Tkacs-Soli presented at the national Association of People Supporting Employment (APSE) conference in Charlotte, NC with Dr. Kerri Morse and Silvia Gil. They presented on Empowering Careers through Industry-Aligned Certification Programs. Melissa spoke about her experience building and implementing curriculums for Ken’s Krew.

Melissa Tkacs-Soli, Connecticut vocational coordinator for Ken's Krew, has helped over 50 people receive their RISE Up certificate, utilizing the RISE Up program in the nonprofit’s training courses. Joshua K began working as a greeter at the Concord, PA Home Depot in 2015, he is also an important part of the in-focus team. He is well loved by his store associates and customers alike. Joshua’s last day at the Concord Home Depot was Friday March 15, and concluded with a celebration of well wishes and the presentation of a gold badge! Joshua is relocating to Chicago and will transfer to a local Home Depot near his new home. Joshua is excited to bring Ken’s Krew to Chicago, he will be our first worker in the state of Illinois!
