Governor Kemp claims his tort reform package “levels the playing field,” stabilizes insurance costs, and ensures fairness in Georgia’s courts. But let’s be clear—SB 68 does none of these things. ? What SB 68 doesn’t do: ? It doesn’t lower insurance premiums. ? It doesn’t reduce so-called “frivolous lawsuits.” ? It doesn’t protect consumers. ?? What SB 68 actually does: ?? Boosts record-breaking insurance company profits at the expense of innocent Georgians. ?? Makes it harder for injured people to obtain justice, even when they’ve been harmed by negligence. ?? Strips away the legal and Constitutional rights of everyday citizens in favor of corporate interests. This bill is a massive overreach that benefits the insurance industry while limiting accountability for wrongdoers.
