so honored to have our recent project at the Steinway Tower featured on the cover of this month’s Elle Decor, The Art Issue! We loved working with these art collecting clients who wanted their New York home to feel warm & welcoming and to showcase some of their favorite works of art, which includes pieces by El Anatsui, Alex Katz, Andy Warhol, Nick Cave, Angel Otero and Salvador Dalí. Some of the highlights include a custom carved quartzite bar with hand applied gold leaf, a custom carved wood and bronze wall unit by?CALEB WOODARD FURNITURE LLC, a wall hung raku bar by?Emmanuelle Simon, a chandelier comprised of what looks like slices of shimmering clouds by?Hélène de Saint Lager?and its perfect foil directly below: a coffee table by?VINCENZO DE COTIIS ARCHITECTS AND GALLERY. As I say to?Hilarie Sheets?in the accompanying story, for me, art holds a sacred place in a home and I relish the opportunity to work closely with clients to install their works. While we have generally figured out in advance where each piece will be placed, sometimes there are last minute surprises - but it’s always the final step of the installation process, and when it’s done something just clicks and a house becomes a home…. Kelly Behun grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, and attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon moving to New York she joined Ian Schrager Hotels’ in-house Design Studio where she trained under architect Anda Andrei and worked with renowned designers Andrée Putman and Philippe Starck. While there she was an integral member of the design team that created a number of their most iconic properties including the Delano in Miami, Mondrian in Los Angeles, and Royalton, Paramount, Morgans, and Hudson hotels in New York City. She later opened Kelly Behun Studio, which has become known for its comprehensive and highly bespoke approach to interior design projects and its exclusive line of furniture and home accessories. Kelly's design work has been featured in numerous domestic and international design and shelter magazines, books, and television shows. Her line is sold through 1stDibs, the Met Breuer shop, and other exclusive outlets, including The Invisible Collection and L’Objet.

chuffed to see our project at The Whiteley London in the pages of Wallpaper* magazine! I was honored to be asked to design the first model residence at this beautiful building, housed in a historic former department store near Hyde Park, reimagined by Foster + Partners Architects into a very special project comprised of 139 gorgeous apartments as well as a Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, all a short walk from Hyde Park. I love the process of photographing our design projects, but it hits different when it’s your own home…..I knew I was in good hands though with my talented friend & collaborator?Michael Reynolds ?who styled the shoot, and the wonderful photographer?Thomas Loof- a dream team in every way.
