Last night COUNTRY Financial? officially opened its 100th anniversary pop-up exhibit at the McLean County Museum of History. Celebrating the 100th anniversary and telling stories of the company's history are a big part of my role over the next year. A special shout-out to my coworkers Sarah Franzen, Jamie Bird, Jennifer McDade, M.S. and Kara Israel for all the work they put in to build the partnership with the museum, create the exhibit and officially open it with our Leadership Council, the Board and city officials. Big congrats to Joseph Assell, GOLFTEC CEO and co-founder, on his induction into the Colorado Golf Hall of Fame! Nearly 30 years ago, Joe started GOLFTEC in the basement of Cherry Hills Country Club and was the sole employee. Since then, Joe's worn many hats, including attaching wires to golfers and recording their movements on VHS tapes before the days of 3D OptiMotion cameras. "I?was the head of finance, the head of marketing, head of teaching golf, the head of bathroom cleaning. I have 1,500 employees now; I tell them I did all of their jobs at one point,” said Assell. Today, GOLFTEC has over 260 locations and is the largest employer of PGA teaching professionals in the world.
