Maine Moves to Set First-Ever Limits on PFAS in Food Maine has long been a leader in PFAS regulation, and now it may set another first—establishing legal limits on PFAS in food. A newly introduced bill (SB130) would require Maine’s Department of Agriculture to codify maximum PFAS levels in farm products like dairy, poultry, produce, and grains. If passed, this would make Maine the first state to regulate PFAS in food, adding to the growing patchwork of state-led PFAS legislation. How could this impact food producers, retailers, and regulators? Joe Green and Zachary J. Lee break it down: https://lnkd.in/eXgFE-U5 #PFAS #FoodRegulation #MaineLaw #EnvironmentalLaw #ConsumerProtection #KelleyDrye

Green marketing is booming—but so are lawsuits over environmental claims. The FTC’s Green Guides have long been a key resource for advertisers, but with the last update in 2012, they don’t always provide clear answers to today’s questions. At last week’s Consumer Brands CPG Legal Forum, FTC Commissioner Melissa Holyoak shared insights on the future of the Green Guides. So, when will we see an update? Don’t hold your breath. But when (or if) revisions come, they could provide much-needed clarity while keeping room for innovation.
