The Silverton, Oregon Silver Creek Intake project received an Honor Award by ACEC Oregon in their annual Engineering Excellence Awards! After Keller’s design improvements, the City now has an intake facility with significantly increased water producing capacity and an extended system life, providing Silverton's residents with a reliable, resilient water system that will serve the community for years to come. Our very own Shannon Williams, a Senior Project Manager and Professional Engineer at Keller, was featured on the American Public Works Association’s (APWA) Public Works Stories! In this video, she encourages women to seek out careers in public works and describes the fulfilment she receives from making a difference in the communities she serves. She’s also the President-Elect of the APWA Oregon Chapter and Water Resources Management Committee Chair. The Rigby Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements project was awarded first place in the Waste and Stormwater Category by ACEC of Idaho in their annual Engineering Excellence Awards! The design identified solutions that meet new effluent discharge limits at the wastewater treatment plant and support a rapidly growing community. To achieve these goals, our team introduced innovative technology and plant material (hemp/kenaf) to enhance biological treatment and increase the plant’s capacity by approximately four times and provide energy savings and resiliency as the City grows. This competition focuses on the degree of project innovation, complexity, achievement, and value. We’re proud of our team and the work they do to continually improve lives. To celebrate this special holiday season, we are giving back to the communities that we live and work in. One way Keller does this is by donating to local organizations. This year, we donated $1,000 to the Idaho Food Bank, Big Brothers Big Sisters, ACE Mentorship Program of Idaho, Family Services Alliance, and other causes around the West. And to help spread more holiday cheer, our Richland office volunteered at Second Harvest to process over 15,000 pounds of food, the Coeur d’Alene crew helped serve meals at Father Bill’s Community Kitchen, and our Salem office purchased $1,000 in gifts for the Forgotten Teens Holiday Project 2024. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to donate and volunteer. From our Keller family to yours, we wish you a safe and happy holiday!
