She’s eager to learn, take on new challenges, and is always looking for ways to improve her skills and contribute to the team’s success. There are many different industries that one could make a career out of. Why did you choose construction management? “Since I was little, I’ve always been fascinated by how buildings and spaces are designed and built, and construction management gives me the opportunity to be a part of that process. I love watching projects evolve from just an idea into something that is real and tangible. It is fulfilling to be a part of improving communities and creating spaces where people can feel secure and comfortable.” ? What advice would you give to young women just starting their careers in the construction industry? “My advice to young women starting out in construction is to trust yourself and don’t shy away from challenges because construction is all about figuring things out as you go. Find a good group of mentors and talk to as many people as you can—learn from their experiences and ask lots of questions. Take advantage of any opportunities to get hands-on experience and pick up new skills. The fast-paced, ever-evolving nature of construction keeps me engaged, and I love knowing that my work is directly contributing to shaping the future. The construction industry is dynamic, where no two days are the same, and there's always a new challenge to tackle. What advice would you give to young women just starting their careers in the construction industry? ? “My advice to young women entering the construction industry is to embrace every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow. Construction is a dynamic and evolving field, and there’s so much to gain by staying curious, asking questions, and seeking out hands-on experience. Surround yourself with supportive mentors—both men and women—who can offer guidance and share their experiences. Don’t be afraid to step up and take on responsibilities; your unique perspective is valuable and can bring fresh ideas to the table. Most importantly, trust yourself and your abilities. Why did you choose construction management? ? ?“I chose construction management because it is a blend of problem-solving, leadership, and hands-on project execution. It’s a field where I am able to see tangible results from my team’s work, whether it’s constructing a new building or renovating an existing one.?I am always learning due to the ever-changing environment.?The field is both challenging and rewarding because it requires?the ability to be creative, communicate effectively, and apply technical skills.” ? What advice would you give to young women just starting their careers in the construction industry? ? “The industry can be intimidating, but building confidence is important.?There will be tough days, but resilience is one of the most valuable traits to develop. Every challenge is a chance to grow stronger and more capable.?There may be preconceived notions about women in the industry, but that should not discourage women from going into the field. I’ve always been fascinated by how things work and how they are put together. It began with creating interior spaces and after many years working as an Interior Designer, construction management was a natural next step.” ? What advice would you give to young women just starting their careers in the construction industry? “There are many paths you can take in this industry and there are more opportunities for women today than there ever have been. Site Superintendent Don Mayer was happy to share his experience and knowledge in the construction industry with students from the Codman Academy. The students were on site with Don last Friday at our River Street project.

Project Update on Beverly Village: Sitework and landscaping are nearing completion on the exterior.?Interior common area finishes are progressing while resident apartment punch list is wrapping up.?Looking forward to occupancy in Fall 2024!
