José Ricardo Martins and Rafael Villac spoke at an event organized by Kegler Brown Hill + Ritter about business opportunities in the Brazilian market. The audience was made up of business leaders and representatives of Ohio state agencies and chambers of commerce. The meeting, organized by Kegler Brown's Global Business leader, Vinita Bahri-Mehra (in the photo), highlighted some of the factors that make Brazil one of the most attractive destinations for doing business. These include access to a massive consumer base, the continued reduction of government intervention in private contracts and the recent emergence of new industries, such as gaming and sports betting. Congratulations to Continental Development Ventures on the closing of its latest construction loan! Steve Uma?a, a director in the firm’s Real Estate + Finance group, represented the lender, Heartland Bank, in the financing transaction, which will partially fund the construction of “The Fitzgerald,” a mixed-use project that will feature 226 residential apartment units, office and retail space, and public parking, located in Bexley, Ohio. The project incorporates TIF, PACE, and Capital Lease bond financing, in addition to the construction loan, through the involvement of the Columbus-Franklin County Finance Authority. ? Many thanks to Lisa Tsen, the commercial relationship manager and team lead at Heartland Bank who ensured that closing went smoothly and that the borrower left happy.
