Keep America Beautiful affiliate Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful recently unveiled a powerful new mural honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ?? This project, created by Muralist Kevin Scene Lewis and funded in part by a KAB MLK Community Improvement Grant, honors Dr. King’s historic last visit to Macon on March 23, 1968—12 days before his assassination. Located just a few blocks from where Dr. King spoke at New Zion Baptist Church, the mural not only revitalizes the neighborhood - it serves as a reminder of Dr. King’s message of nonviolence and preserves an important, yet lesser-known, moment in Macon’s history. ???

In partnership with Keep America Beautiful Affiliate Keep Bamberg County Beautiful, the county is committed to creating cleaner, greener, and more beautiful spaces for everyone. Alisha Moore, Director of Keep Bamberg County Beautiful, alongside County Council Chairman Evert Comer, Jr., are leading the charge to make this important initiative a reality for their community of less than 13,000 residents.
