?? Excited to share my journey of managing a press event for the first time with the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism! Yesterday's collaboration with the amazing Keep Arkansas Beautiful (KAB) team and our agency partner, MHP/Team SI, was nothing short of inspiring. ?? We unveiled the charming "The Messy Garden Mystery" ?? at Pulaski Heights Elementary, a children's storybook crafted in collaboration with Arkansas PBS. This event was brought to life with a special live reading by none other than Arkansas TV legend Craig O’Neill. ?? Our mission with this book, featuring characters from the beloved "Mystery League" series, is to nurture a love for environmental care in Arkansas' youth, from pre-K through elementary. ?? Director Colbie Jones from KAB highlighted the importance of instilling environmental stewardship early on. ?? Kudos to author Corey Womack, illustrator Ron Wolfe, and editor Elizabeth Dru Yates for creating an engaging narrative that teaches valuable lessons on litter cleanup and conservation. ?? With educational standards in mind, we're committed to providing teachers with resources that enrich their curriculums. ?? I'm thrilled about our upcoming spring book-reading tour with Craig O’Neill, aimed at bringing the adventures of Otto the Otter and Marta to more schools and communities. ?? Join us in creating a sustainable future and grab your free copy of "The Messy Garden Mystery" to share with the little ones in your life. Together, let's build a cleaner, more vibrant Arkansas for generations to come. ?? https://lnkd.in/gDNceynV https://lnkd.in/g66QqZhc https://lnkd.in/gk_Gzx9m #ArkansasDepartmentOfParksHeritageAndTourism #KeepArkansasBeautiful #EnvironmentalEducation #CommunityEngagement #ArkansasPBS #Sustainability #PressEvent

Thank you, Keep Arkansas Beautiful, for making this fantastic video about the Pick Me Up program, a collaboration between the City of Fayetteville and Genesis Church of Fayetteville for the shared missions of helping and investing in our community members and maintaining our parks, trails, streets and creeks so they remain clean, beautiful and healthy. Pick Me Up began in the summer of 2022. So far this year, 125 individuals have participated in the program, and they have collected 115,000 pounds of trash.

As solar power energy is quickly growing, the need to recycle portions of them to integrate into new solar panels is a huge need especially with the International Renewable Energy Agency estimating the U.S. along contributing to 10 million tons of solar waste by 2050. https://lnkd.in/gwtQX5j6

Our friends at Trex Company have the NexTrex Recycling Challenge going on and it is time for Arkansas schools to join in the effort to help collect at least 1,000 pounds of plastic film over 12-months. Share this wonderful opportunity with a school administrator, faculty member or teacher so they can sign up their school or classroom! https://lnkd.in/gp_NwTVQ
