💝 Today is National Donor Day 💝 While many celebrate love today, we’re also honoring the gift of life through organ, eye, and tissue donation. Every day, over 100,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for life-saving transplants—and a single donor can save up to 8 lives. Communities of color are especially in need, as a diverse donor pool increases the chances of finding compatible matches. At Kedren Health, we believe that giving the gift of life is one of the most powerful acts of love and community. 💗 Are you a registered donor? Consider joining the donor registry and talking to your loved ones about your decision. Visit: [shortened link to your state’s donor registry or Donate Life] This National Donor Day, let’s celebrate love by giving hope. #NationalDonorDay #GiftOfLife #OrganDonation #DonateLife #KedrenCares #CommunityHealth #BlackHealthMatters

🌟 Honoring a Healthcare Pioneer: Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler 🌟 In 1864, Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler made history as the first African American woman to earn a medical degree in the United States. At a time when both racial and gender discrimination were widespread, Dr. Crumpler’s determination and compassion paved the way for generations of Black healthcare professionals. She dedicated her life to providing care for underserved communities, particularly freed slaves in the post-Civil War South, despite facing constant prejudice and challenges. Her groundbreaking work culminated in the publication of A Book of Medical Discourses in 1883—one of the first medical texts written by an African American. At Kedren Health, we are inspired by Dr. Crumpler’s legacy as we continue our mission to provide accessible, community-centered healthcare for South Los Angeles. Her resilience reminds us that equity in healthcare is not just a goal—it’s a necessity. This Black History Month, we honor Dr. Crumpler and all the trailblazers who opened doors in medicine and advocacy. #BlackHistoryMonth #RebeccaLeeCrumpler #HealthcarePioneer #WomenInMedicine #KedrenHealth #CommunityCare #HealthEquity #BHM #KedrenCares

✨ A Message from Our CEO: Honoring Kedren Health’s Legacy and Looking Ahead ✨ As we reflect on our history, we are proud to commemorate Valentine’s Day, 1965, as the day that marked the beginning of Kedren Health. On that day, Dr. James L. Jones, MD, a visionary child psychiatrist, and his dedicated staff opened Kedren’s first outpatient clinic, laying the foundation for an organization born out of love, compassion, and a commitment to serve. Later that year, on October 22, 1965, in the wake of the Watts Uprising, Kedren Community Health Center, Inc. was officially founded. Dr. Jones saw the deep inequities affecting South Los Angeles—economic disenfranchisement, educational deprivation, and a severe lack of access to healthcare—and turned his vision into action. Today, Kedren Health stands as a testament to Dr. Jones’s dream realized. For nearly 60 years, we have been privileged to walk alongside our community, providing vital services that ensure health, hope, and healing for those who need it most. But we are not resting on our legacy. The future is bright. We are proud to announce the development of the Children’s Village in South LA—a transformative space designed to provide comprehensive services for women and children in our community. From primary care and therapy to pre-school and more, this village will serve as a beacon of care, compassion, and opportunity for generations to come. As we honor our history, we also recommit ourselves to a future where every individual in South LA has access to the health and support they need to thrive. 💙 Thank you for being a part of Kedren Health’s journey. Together, we will continue to transform lives, strengthen our community, and fulfill Dr. Jones’s mission of love and service. With gratitude, Gregory Polk CEO, Kedren Health
