The University of Missouri-Kansas City has officially achieved Carnegie R1 research status. Reflecting on this achievement, Melissa Roberts Chapman shares her insight: "UMKC will continue to grow as a leader in scientific discovery, but also grow in the application of that research and its development into companies that drive our regional economy and improve the human condition." UMKC's achievement not only validates Kansas City's growing reputation as a research hub but also signals exciting opportunities ahead for collaboration between academia and industry.
