Shaping the Future of Small Business in Kansas City! From strategic roundtable discussions to visionary planning, the Small Business Task Force Planning Retreat brought together leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers to craft an actionable roadmap for small business success in Kansas City. Hosted at the KC Current Soccer Stadium, one of the training venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the retreat explored key opportunities at the intersection of small business, tourism, and economic development. GRANT APPLICATION NOW OPEN! The City of Kansas City is thrilled to announce the launch of the Kansas City Outdoor Dining Enhancement Grant Program. Applications will be accepted from July 29 to August 16, 2024. “I cannot wait to see more people dinning outside in our city,” said Councilman Wes Rogers. “Kansas City is such a vibrant city already and these grants will bring it even more to life”. Kansas City boasts a rich culinary scene, reflecting the city's diverse and dynamic spirit with a variety of flavors and experiences. This program aims to bolster the already vibrant restaurant industry in Kansas City, Missouri, by encouraging the development of permanent outdoor dining spaces that can be utilized across multiple seasons. The City of Kansas City has three vacant commercial/retail spaces on the ground floor of Ed Wolfe Garage at the intersection of 11th Street and Oak Street. The City is offering leases targeting mixed-use, office, and restaurant spaces, focusing on daytime business activities. The City is organizing a pre-proposal meeting for those interested in exploring the vacant spaces and seeking clarification on the submission process from city staff.
