Blackberries can be a real nuisance. They seem like they’re impossible to control!! One way to help control them that we’ve had good luck with is: First, Clear the blackberries 2nd, Plant grass This does 2 things; allows the area to be mowed Keeps the berries from regrowing so quickly!! When customers ask what to do wirh logging slash or log piles I know of 3 good solutions. 1. The cheapest method is to pile and burn. 2. The quickest method is to use a forestry mulcher. 3. The cleanest method is to load and haul away to recycler. Piling and burning is time consuming and obnoxious but there is no cheaper way to get the job done. Forestry mulching is about 4-5 times the cost of piling and burning but is really good for soil, thus environmentally friendly. Load and haul away is the most expensive but also very clean. Great for your homesite or road because easier to strip topsoil.

Darleen had a big problem after logging in Brush Prairie. She wasn’t comfortable burning slash piles on her 5 acres because of concerns of smoking out her neighbors or the fire getting away from her. When she called, she was hesitant to clean up all of the slash with foresyry mulching so opted to start with 1 acres closest to the house. Once Darleen seen the finished product and how quick the process went she opted to have us do the remainder of her property. Now it looks like a park and she has a great #defensiblespace around her home. #betterway
