The Kaulig Companies Championship is a major on PGA TOUR Champions held annually in July on Firestone Country Club's South Course in Akron, OH. The Kaulig Companies Championship is a no-cut 72-hole Stroke Play event featuring the top 78 golfers on PGA TOUR Champions competing for a $3 million purse. Since its inception in 1983, the Kaulig Companies Championship has been played in nine different cities at some of the country's top venues. Along with its stature as a major championship and significance in determining the season-long Charles Schwab Cup champion, the Kaulig Companies Championship will also offer its champion an exemption into The PLAYERS Championship. Since 1984, more than $30 million has been given to worthy causes through professional golf tournaments at Firestone Country Club. Since this tournament began at Firestone Country Club in 2019, past champions include Jerry Kelly ('22), Steve Stricker ('21), Jerry Kelly (‘20), and Retief Goosen ('19).

Swinging in the Spotlight! This week we'd like to introduce Danielle Thompson with Northern Ohio Golf Charities and Foundation. Role/Responsibility on the team: Executive Director of Northern Ohio Golf Charities & Foundation/Manage all volunteer operations, the Ambassador of Golf event, and Northern Ohio Golf Charities Foundation Number of years you’ve been a part of this team: This is my 5th tournament! Favorite part about your job: We have the greatest volunteers on the TOUR! It is a pleasure to work with them every day. After the tournament concludes, the Foundation manages hundreds of grant applications and distributes the funds raised through the tournament and Ambassador of Golf event. It is rewarding to play a role in improving our community one grant at a time.
