What an unforgettable kickoff to the Jewish Film Festival! Last night’s screening of Alliance brought in an incredible crowd of over 300 attendees. A special moment was shared by Joe Levin, whose deep roots in Vineland brought 35 family members to celebrate the story of the Alliance Colony, founded in 1882. The evening was enriched by an engaging panel with Alliance director Susan Kehnemui Donnelly, cinematographer Ted Salins, and moderator Dr. Thomas Kinsella of Stockton University’s Alliance Heritage Center. Last week, our Center for Learning and Growth hosted the second class in its Mediterranean Cooking Series with renowned blogger and cookbook author Vicky Cohen. Participants made shawarma chickpea empanadas with homemade spice blends, goat cheese-stuffed dates, and a vibrant “crunchy health salad” packed with pomegranate, mango, and crisp veggies. To celebrate Purim, they also baked hamantaschen! ???
