This semester we welcome Pablo Sequero, Katherine Hogan, Vinny Petrarca, Yuyang Liu, Alessandro Arienzo, and Isabel Abascal to Syracuse University School of Architecture as Visiting Critics! Each of them will teach a studio to upper level undergraduate and graduate students and lecture as part of our fall series.

Modapalooza is coming to North Carolina! At USModernist's Modapalooza, architecture enthusiasts will have the opportunity to board luxury tour buses to visit new and renovated homes by women architects around Raleigh, Durham, and Hillsborough. Visitors will meet the architects and hear about their visions as they tour through the homes. “We planned to offer a dynamic tour and found that the houses we wanted were all by women,” says George Smart, Hon. AIA, founder of USModernist. “Tour-goers will experience great modern design interpreted for today.” Tickets are $179 each and include refreshments, lunch, tote bag, and wi-fi on the bus. Yesterday was the Ribbon Cutting for the Wake County Public School System Early Learning Center. Such a special event and significant milestone for the first freestanding public Pre-K in our County. The event included Superintendent Dr Taylor, Wake County Board of Commissioners Shinica Thomas Wake County School Board members Sam Hershey the WCPSS FD&C team, teachers, staff and best of all a singing performance by the ELC students. All were focused on the significance of Early Learning and the potential future impact the Early Learning Center will have. #wcpss

We are excited to share that our Farmworkers Housing project was awarded an Honorable Mention in the Un-Built Residential Multi-Unit category for the The Architect's Newspaper 2023 Best of Design Awards! In its 11th year, AN’s Best of Design Awards honor outstanding built and unbuilt architectural projects across a diversity of categories and typologies. North Carolina has one of the largest farmworker populations in the nation, and farmworkers play a vital role in cultivating the food we eat each day.
