This past week, my Health Services Administration cohort presented our final capstone projects. Over the past four months, my team and I have dedicated our knowledge of healthcare and countless hours to design the perfect mock up practice to present to our faculty and judge panel. My team and I chose to create “Orthophysio”, a sports medicine and orthopedic care clinic designed to serve Lee County and the greater East Alabama region. Throughout this semester, we built this practice from the ground up. From researching demographics and patient engagement strategies, to creating our organization’s design, location, staffing initiatives, marketing plan, and financial/accounting projections. This project was made possible by our excellent professor; Frank Oprandy from his knowledge and guidance throughout this project. Also, the generous clinics and site visits who were able to give us insight to the inner workings of orthopedic care; Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center, Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics & Kassouf Healthcare Solutions, LLC, thank you so much for your support! This project has been truly remarkable and the greatest learning experience for future healthcare professionals. I would like to give a special thank you to my team, the HADM program at Auburn University, and lastly, our professors for this invaluable experience! War Eagle!!
