Kaskaskia Engineering Group, LLC (KEG) is a 100% woman-owned and managed engineering and contracting firm that was founded in 2006. From the beginning, we have recruited highly skilled employees from a variety of public and private sector backgrounds. This has allowed us to quickly amass an impressive portfolio of federal, state, county, and private project experience. We have established professional relationships with The Federal Highway Administration, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Capital Development Board, Illinois American Water Company, East-West Gateway Council of Governments, Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and area leaders. KEG is a certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) through the Illinois Unified Certification Program, Iowa DOT, Missouri DOT, and Indiana DOT; licensed as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council; and is recognized as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) by the Small Business Administration. Our main office is located in downtown Belleville, Illinois, with branch offices in Peoria, Champaign, and Glen Carbon, Illinois, as well as Ste. Genevieve, Missouri and Evansville, Indiana. Our goal is to provide extraordinary service through expert technical knowledge, collaboration, and communication early and often. KEG’s full service capabilities include transportation engineering, geotechnical engineering, general contracting, GIS mapping, environmental science, construction observation, and water resource management, including water, wastewater, and stormwater planning and design. The diversity of our in-house services affords us the ability to understand more than just how to complete a project. It allows us to view projects with a holistic approach – considering all phases of projects, as well as environmental, client, and stakeholder needs.

Celebrating National Surveyors Week with a unique project in Chaska, Minnesota! The Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities initiated a project to improve the access trail to the L71 Force Main Cleanout Structure. While providing professional surveying and engineering services, KEG's Survey Team discovered a "high water mark" indication on a boulder from 1881. The levee in the project area was built due to historic flooding, which is evident from the 1984 USACE article pictured below. This project is a great reminder of how surveying connects our past to today's modern infrastructure. Thank you Brown and Caldwell for teaming with KEG! #NationalSurveyorsWeek #KEGatwork

We all know what it's like to be stuck at a railroad crossing. The Brush College Road and Faries Parkway intersection, which also crosses the Norfolk Southern Railroad, experiences around 18 hours of train blockages every week due to the high industrial activity in the area. To improve traffic flow, the City of Decatur Illinois is constructing a grade separation – or most commonly known as an overpass - to remedy the wait times at the intersection. Partnering with AECOM, KEG provided Phase I and II design services and is now providing Phase III Construction Management and an on-site Resident Engineer responsible for daily inspection and documentation during construction.
