This is an ideal example of how proactive communication can help turn down the temperature on important topics facing public schools and their communities. Huge kudos to Nicole Kieser and Nicholas Stellitano and their teams at Andover Public Schools (Massachusetts) and Dillinger Research and Applied Data Inc for the work they're doing to engage the entire community about their redistricting plan. This video is the first "pillar" in a series of updates we'll build, using the same layout and template. This flexible model makes production faster and cheaper. Better yet, any district navigating their own redistricting process can license this template and build their own informational series, with their own brand identity and messaging. #schoolpr #publiceducation #publicschools #redistricting
关于我们
At kartoonEDU, we make short, fun videos for school systems to share with parents and their students to learn about what’s going on in the schools. Informed parents and students make a more engaged school community. Parents want schools to do the best for their children, and schools want to do the best for their students. Knowing the how and why of what schools do gives parents the context they need to understand what their children are doing at school. kartoonEDU is produced by Dave Kartunen, a national-award winning broadcast journalist who focused his entire career on better governance. The idea was conceived with Win Treese, an experienced software engineer, writer, and technical leader with a background in explaining complex topics in understandable terms. Both are parents with a deep love of public school systems. Win continues to provide technical, conceptual, and content advice. kartoonEDU was borne out of a shared desire to help parents know more about what’s going on in their children’s schools.

Jayne Wellman, MPA, MCPPO and the public servants in Town of Reading, MA are doing great work for their community. We’re so proud to be a part of the effort!
This week we launched the second video in our MBTA Communities series discussing the two compliance models we have going before Town Meeting next month. We developed these short videos to help drive community engagement around a complicated issue and reassure residents that we have designed our models with our their feedback in mind. Once again, Kudos to Dave Kartunen at @KartunenEdu for his fantastic work. A NEW NAUSET: we had so much fun visiting with the students, staff, and building committee that are bringing a new Nauset Regional High School to life! In the effort, Nauset Public Schools created a repeatable visual identity that we can apply to future topics they want to proactively communicate to their stakeholders. Special thanks to Taylor W. for herding this project together for us! #schoolpr #CapeCod #schoolbuilding #construction #MSBA

Nashoba's Innovation Pathways Program is looking for professionals from a wide range of industries to share their experiences and insights with students. While all speakers are welcome, the program is especially interested in speakers with expertise in the sectors that line up with our Pathways Programming: Business & Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing. Our goal is to give students real-world insights into the different career pathways available to them within their pathways. As a speaker, you would share your personal journey -- highlighting the key decisions, experiences, and skills that shaped your career. This is an opportunity to inspire the next generation by offering students practical advice on how they can navigate their own educational and career paths. Let us know that you're interested below! https://lnkd.in/euSpeqs2

Scooped by Jayne Wellman, MPA, MCPPO again! We love working with the dedicated public servants in Reading! If your town is looking to communicate complex issues this way, we’d love to partner with you!
As Reading works toward Town Meeting and voting on new bylaws relative to the MBTA Communities Act, we are pleased to partner with Dave Kartunen of KartunenEDU to present a series of informational short videos as a further step in our two years of outreach. Here’s our first one. #Housing #MBTACommunities #LocalGov #Outreach #CommunityDevelopment Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities

BUILD A VISUAL IDENTITY NOW, SAVE MONEY LATER: Working with Robert Malay is one of the great joys of building kartoonEDU. In bringing SAU29's strategic plan to life, we also set out to create a new visual identity for his seven-town school district. This convertible design is already being applied to other key topics the district needs to communicate, and is going to drive their long-term production costs way down! #strategicplanning #publiceducation #publicschools #schoolpr

SHARE THE GOOD NEWS! Public schools are doing incredible things for their students and our communities every day—we should never stop proving that benefit. Needham Public Schools has been publishing and mailing a performance report home to every household in their community. This year, we're helping them boost that effort with an awareness campaign. And just to be sure the content doesn't spoil until next fall, we've got one last edit we'll add in a few weeks to make the content durable... after the mail goes out! Thank you to Dr. Daniel Gutekanst and Diane Simmons (DIS) for their enthusiasm in what we're building for public schools. Let us know how you want to share your good news! #schoolpr #needham #publicschools #education
