We are an Oakland-based fund that believes in the power of transformative ideas and diverse teams.
关于我们
At Kapor Capital, we invest in seed stage startups that close gaps of access, expand economic opportunity and make a positive impact in our society and the economy. Our entrepreneurs come from all backgrounds, with a special focus on people of color, women, and other historically underrepresented groups who are inspired by their lived experience to shape the future and inform the questions they ask and the problems they identify that give rise to profitable, tech-driven solutions. We are an Oakland-based fund that understands that start-up companies have the ability to transform entire industries and believe that startups can leverage information technology to solve real world problems and tangibly improve the lives of millions through innovations in the fields of education, finance, health, work, justice and more.

I always tell folks looking to start a business or make an impact in their industry: never, ever, ever give up. Stay the course. Lean in. Be kind. Be okay with being wrong, but never shy away from having an opinion. On March 13th, I’ll be delivering the keynote address at the Autotech Council. I’ll discuss the EV Charging Reliability Report, but I’ll also highlight the importance of data and information—not just for refining our technical standards, but also for shaping business standards (shoutout to you, Karim Farhat, PhD!). But here’s what makes this moment even more special—just over two years ago, on December 9th, 2021, I pitched ChargerHelp! to the #AutotechCouncil when we were just getting started. We had a bold vision and were looking for support. That pitch led to connections with LG NOVA , which eventually landed us in their #Innovation Program—opening doors to real deals and partnerships. One thing I know for sure: this industry is capable of delivering an exceptional experience. I know #ChargerHelp! is part of that history. And I know that when you never give up, you might just find yourself standing on stage, delivering a keynote to your peers and the largest car OEMs in the world. That’s all, y’all. You feeling #ChargedUp yet!? Also, if you're in the area and would like to hear my keynote, sign up below: https://lnkd.in/gm-u8Fp8

We're excited to share in Fast Company that Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and BuildCasa are partnering to launch the Affordable Starter Home Initiative. Homeownership is the most reliable path to the middle class and low income Californians have been locked out for decades. The goal of the program is to utilize philanthropic capital to create homeownership opportunities for low income Californians with no government subsidies or deed restrictions. All proceeds from the projects will recycle back into the fund to build more units. By leveraging new state subdivision laws like SB9 and SB684 along with efficient missing middle starter home designs, the units will be built for a fraction of the cost of traditional government funded affordable housing. Thanks Patrick Sisson for covering, Amaya Bravo France for believing in us, Sacramento Mayor Kevin McCarty for your support, and the BuildCasa team including my co-founder Paul Steidl, our head of development Donovan Adesoro, and permitting lead Benjamin Tinklenberg for driving the projects forward.
