Our very own Steve Kinslow will be taking the stage to talk about Kapoq after the Prosper Show morning keynote! Here’s a sneak peek of what he’ll be talking about: ?? Our clients have been focused on one thing recently… #profitability. Asking themselves (and us): What should I focus on to drive profitability? ?? That’s where Kapoq comes in. Our platform has 6 interconnected modules that surface actionable alerts tied to a financial impact — this way, you aren’t just staring at numbers, you know exactly what to do with them. ?? We calculate the dollar impact for each action you take, and the highest value alerts boil to the top. So when alerts pop up, it’s weighted on what actually matters to your bottom line. Be sure to stop by to hear not only the keynote speaker, but also give Steve a warm welcome! WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26 9:40 AM KEYNOTE HALL See you there! ??
Helping Agencies, Aggregators, & Brands see the Forest for the Trees within their Amazon operations.

Bugs we're seeing in Amazon's new Finance API ?? Amazon's new #FinanceAPI has been out for a few months now, and our team is seeing some issues. Here's what we're noticing: 1/ NO DEFERRED TRANSACTIONS The new deferred transactions label has not appeared for any transactions yet (ugh!) 2/ MISPLACED DATA More generally, we're noticing lots of issues with data just not being available or not being where it should be 3/ VAT CALCULATIONS For some internaional marketplaces where VAT is collected, there are several transactions types that include VAT when they should not (it's normally a separate line item for VAT charges) What bugs are you noticing in the new #AmazonFinanceAPI? Let us know in the comments.

?? What you need to know about Amazon's new Finance API ?? Amazon's new #FinanceAPI came out in late Q4 2024. Here's what makes it different than the previous version: 1/ STANDARDIZED TRANSACTION INFORMATION This new API simplifies and streamlines all transactions data, so you have access to all your data in one place (rather than having to merge all separate event types) 2/ MARKETPLACE-LEVEL TRANSACTIONS You can now view which marketplace was associated with a specific transaction, rather than relying on the currency of a transaction. For more details on the new #AmazonFinanceAPI, check out our blog post at the link in the comments ??

How deferred transactions are affecting your Amazon P&L ?? In late 2024, Amazon implemented #deferredtransactions, which has affected how soon Sellers receive payments from a transaction. How Amazon calculates the dates of the sale can cause confusion when calculating your #profitandloss. 1/ WHAT ARE DEFERRED TRANSACTIONS? Deferred transactions act as placeholders until Amazon releases them as standard transactions. Amazon’s reasoning behind this is to ensure that there are enough funds to cover potential returns, claims, and chargebacks. 2/ WHAT HAPPENS The balance is removed from Deferred Transactions and added to Standard Orders. These transactions then follow the Transaction Posted Date payout model. These transactions are held for 7 days after the delivery date, which can really make cash flow difficult, especially when Amazon made this change with little notice. 3/ HOW Kapoq SOLVES THIS PROBLEM It's fair to say that Amazon’s payment structure—especially with deferred transactions—creates challenges. However, Kapoq’s consistent methodology ensures accuracy by reflecting actual cash flow. While Kapoq currently doesn’t have API visibility into when specific deferred transactions are released, we’re working with Amazon to add them in to give you a more complete insight into your P&L. To learn more about calculating #Amazon P&L statements, check out the blog post at the link in the comments ??

Why is it so hard to calculate an accurate P&L on Amazon? There's a few key reasons: ? Deferred transactions affect cash flow ? Amazon's different timing rules and changes for when profit is counted ? Difficult to manually pull transaction report and get it into an easily-digestible form ? Some critical P&L info isn't available in Amazon (cost of goods, PPC advertising, and external costs) Our Director of Product Development, Courtney Taylor, sat down to talk in-depth about how to calculate an accurate P&L on Amazon, and everything you need to take into consideration! There are many data sources available from Amazon, but not all are created equal. There are some key differences between these data sources in terms of accuracy, reliability, and availability. 1/ API DATA ? Pros: Accurate; sufficient for most daily reports ? Cons: Costly to maintain in-house; 1-4 days behind 2/ REAL-TIME DATA ? Pros: Most up-to-date; best for big shopping events like #PrimeDay ? Cons: Not 100% accurate; could change later 3/ QUERYABLE or CUSTOM DATA ? Pros: Most accurate/reliable ? Cons: Cubmersome to pull; takes a long time to produce insights Each of these categories of data has their own benefits and drawbacks. How do you use each of these categories for different applications? Let us know in the comments! For a full breakdown of these categories, check out the link in the comments.
