  • The State of Kansas will cover the state licensing, background check, and fingerprinting fees for child care providers seeking initial licensure or licensure renewal through 2025 or until available funds are expended. Fee coverage will assist new child care providers by reducing start-up costs and continuing to support existing providers as they retain their licensure. Providers should consult their local health departments or local resource and referral agencies to learn more about applicable local fees in their jurisdiction. Our water challenges are complex and solving them will be hard at times. While we have different opinions on how to solve them - and we should - that's healthy and helpful - there's no debate that we are going to have to work together to solve them. In many ways, this bracket exercise models that approach. We know this feedback doesn't represent 100% approval. But it's helpful to have these conversations about what's important to Kansans so we can design prioritization processes that reflect broad ranging views and can be adapted to reflect changing conditions over 10 years (like increased conservation resulting from action by people or more rain or worse drought resulting from nature). We're 4 meetings in and the discussion today in Newton, south central Kansas, shows resiliency (long-term thinking) as a top priority along with economic impact and stakeholder input. Also, a lot of discussion around the importance of measurable impacts for taxpayer dollars. Looking forward to more discussions and more ideas to improve our water future! The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program hosted delegates from Colombia and USDA officials to tour a local clinic, observe a mock client visit and visit a local grocery store to learn about the WIC client experience. The visit was an opportunity for international guests to learn how federal, state and local governments collaborate to support child and maternal health. The Kansas WIC program supports 47,000 participants each month. Learn more about the program: https://lnkd.in/ggJSTmeb.
